Out of all the dragons in the new NINJAGO season, the Thunderfang Dragon of Chaos (Set #71832) is easily my favorite. It just looks so different and intense, and building it with my son made the whole experience even better. We had a blast putting it together—it was fun, exciting, and gave us a great chance to bond.
The whole build took us about two hours, which felt just right—not too short, but not overwhelming either. It was detailed enough for both of us to stay interesting the whole time.
Part of the LEGO NINJAGO 2025 “Dragons Rising” series, Thunderfang really stands out. Instead of the usual four-legged dragon design, this one has a hunched, two-legged pose that makes it look fierce and powerful. The color combo of red and purple gives it a wild, chaotic vibe, and the swirly patterns on the wings just add to the cool factor. There are also chains around its neck and legs, which make it look like it was once controlled or trapped by dark magic. That little detail makes the dragon feel like it has a real backstory.
This dragon is super poseable too—its head, jaw, wings, legs, and tail all move. One of the coolest parts is the chain-release feature. You insert two prismatic blades into a side shrine, and it “unlocks” the dragon. It’s such a fun and creative mechanic that adds extra play value.
The set also comes with six awesome LEGO NINJAGO minifigures: Lloyd, Nya, Arin, Sora, and the villains Nokt and Tyr. Nokt looks really cool with a dark, detailed outfit, and Tyr stands out with long horns and a unique design as the Dragonian leader.
If you’re into NINJAGO dragons, the Thunderfang Dragon of Chaos set is definitely one to check out. It’s fun to build, looks amazing, and is packed with cool play features and characters.
